Hello!  Thank you for taking the time to visit my site! My name is Joy and my family and I (and dogs!) make Littleton, CO our home.  My husband and I have 4 children and my family is by far my greatest accomplishment. After bringing our first daughter into the world, I knew I was forever changed.  I fell in love with the birthing process and my passion to support families as a Licensed Professional Counselor transitioned into an even stronger passion for supporting women and their families during one of the most sacred and beautiful seasons of their lives. I have worked as a certified labor doula for over 11 years and I feel incredibly honored to walk along side a family during this time!

 

I am a Certified Labor Doula through CAPPA and I am an Internationally Certified Childbirth Educator through ICEA.  In addition to these certifications, I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.

My Philosophy

 

I believe that a woman’s body is created with an innate ability to birth her child.  Too often a healthy, natural process is derailed by unnecessary drugs or procedures.  While trusting the birth process, I also understand that there is a place and time for medical interventions, whether they are desired or necessary.  I believe in and respect the right of a woman to make the best decisions for herself and her baby, and fully support her own desires and priorities for her birth.
